Major addition to and renovation of an existing mid-century Modern home in Wildwood.
This project involved the redesign, reconfiguration, and additions to an exceptionally sited home on Wildwood Drive. Almost entirely in its original as-built condition, the great mid-century modern home needed changes to better fit our client’s needs and to connect to the site. Our clients purchased the near-60 year old home from the first owners in close to original condition. While they have been based abroad, they have worked with us to develop a new design that builds from the great mid-century modern layout and pushes it even further to provide needed space, functionality, better visual and spatial connections to the gardens and greater site, and a better response to how their family lives and entertains. It has been an enjoyable challenge as we work to respect the best of the original design through the use of complementary changes and additions.
