Adaptive Re-use and site planning of Banff Mount Norquay’s Historic Cliff House, Patio, and View Walk.
This project involves the redevelopment of the iconic 1949 – 1951 Tea House and surrounds to support Summer-use at Banff Mount Norquay. Our project involved supporting Banff Mount Norquay’s application to, and subsequent collaboration with, Parks Canada to allow for summer use of the area surrounding the historic 1950 Tea House located at the top of the classic North American Chairlift for the first time in decades. Focus was given to improvements and code upgrades to the renamed Cliff House and its Bistro, a spectacular and expansive roof top patio and access above, and an accessible promenade that the public can follow to a precipitous Viewing Platform that overlooks and takes advantage of what is, perhaps, the greatest vista to be found in the Park. Subsequent design and construction will continue over the next several years.
