GREGG ferguson B.Comm., M.Arch
GREGG co-founded Down + Livesey Architects and Atomic Boy Making, as well as having worked with MacDougall Architect before starting placeworks design in 1998.
Gregg’s experiences have forged a belief that authentic architecture must come from an enthusiastic engagement with the client and their community, their needs, and the rich, varied conditions found on each site.
Gregg has been involved in the Calgary Folk Music Festival for twenty one largely fun years - fifteen on the Board and six as Board Chair; he was also the Chair of the building Committee for the new Festival Hall in Inglewood. Deeply involved as a leader and Official in the Ski Racing community, he currently serves on the Board for the Banff Alpine Racers while simultaneously cheerleading for his active, racing children.
The sixteen years of non-profit management and governance experience has fueled a passion and fascination with the good that is found in arts, culture, and the public realm. Gregg remains committed to volunteering and always giving back.
Gregg still competes internationally in sailing and is an active skier, hiker and traveler – pastimes he shares with his young and energetic family.
